I had a great follow-up consult with my herbalist Friday. She continues to be happy with my progress and thinks by July I'll be ready to wean off of my antimicrobial herbs, although I'll continue taking core support herbs. I have to have 3 months symptom free to be considered in remission. I was really excited about the prospect of remission being so close, and I posted something on FB about it.
What no one saw behind that post, is that I've been dealing with a lot of pain, flares and herxing lately. Even though I'm supposedly near remission, I certainly haven't been feeling like it this last week. I mentioned in my last post about how going off of intermittent fasting threw my body into a hormonal crisis of some sort. It's also affected my Lyme symptoms, and I'm not sure exactly what is what, I'm just trying to give my body time to adjust.
I woke up almost a full week ago with terrible neck pain, and it has continued daily ever since. I didn't hurt myself or even work out the day before, so there's no rhyme or reason to it, which usually means Lyme. The last couple of days it has been accompanied by jaw and shoulder pain. It hurts for me to move my head, especially looking down or up. I actually ended up skipping Pound class (which, if you know me, I NEVER do) because I was scared that I would hurt myself even more. As usual, my body comes first. My herbalist believes Lyme bacteria has been hiding in the neck/jaw/shoulder area. After adding in a new herb a few months ago, I started getting pain in those areas, which was new to me. I'm trying to see the pain as a sign that those little bastards are dying, that's what my herbalist tells me it is. I started getting eyelid twitching today so I knew I needed to up my detox. I drank two huge glasses of lemon water and took a liposomal glutathione pill (I call them liquid gold, they help SO much with herxing but are SO expensive) and I'm feeling better, though not great.
When people said healing from Lyme isn't linear, they weren't kidding.
Onward & upward my friends
